My practice is a deliberate act of recording within spaces that are disappearing. I am not searching for aesthetics, but for cracks where it is still possible to breathe. Through light, sound, and archaic chemical processes, I materialize what systems tend to erase or forget.
My installations are not representations of reality, but physical interventions that transform decaying sites into stages of resistance. To see is to resist – a process in which conscious observation becomes a barrier against the emptiness of the world.

Adam Engler is a Slovak visual artist and doctoral candidate at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, where he focuses on fine art. During his studies, he completed internships at art and human rights centres in Berlin, Porto, New York, and Cluj-Napoca. He actively exhibits in Slovakia and abroad and works as a photography lecturer in Bratislava. He is a co-founder and co-organiser of the human rights event PRIDE Banská Bystrica and collaborates closely with Slovenian artist Jatun Risba on the project From Thinker to Observer: Reflections of Resistance.
In my practice, I work with photography and media installations, focusing on socially engaged art and the reflection of current social issues. My work addresses themes including queer identities, migration, education, criticism of contemporary Slovak politics, and environmental challenges. My approach is characterised by the connection of the personal and the political, intimacy and public space. Through visually compelling yet reflective imagery, I open up sensitive subjects and place them within a broader social context.
