The inspiration for the visual installation comes from the International System of Units, which groups together the most commonly used physical units. Its intention is to relativize the metric system and the basic units for measuring width, depth or length, including wavelength. It creates space for several versions of one meter or measuring unit. It encourages us to think about the concept of “right measure” in a society that we often subconsciously adopt, as we each live according to a different ruler. The installation raises an urgent question: What is it like to live in a society with a double, triple, quadruple … meter? And in general - who is the measure of all things?
