TRUE STORY / THE BLUE BANANA

A critical reflection on Europe’s “Blue Banana” corridor, where globalization, spatial inequality, and urban concentration are transformed into an object that is ultimately consumed and made to disappear.

Object / Performative action

2020

Location:

OKNA (PT), Portugal

The work references the concept of the “Blue Banana” (European megalopolis corridor) and critically engages with ideas of globalization and spatial inequality in Europe. The object – a banana painted blue – was physically consumed several days after the exhibition, completing the work through an act of disappearance, transformation, and performative consumption.
